Bishop O'Connell offers a challenging college-prep curriculum that includes 28 AP subjects and 36 honors courses. Our faculty is committed to helping students see their potential and to continue reaching to fulfill God’s plan for them.

It's always a great day to be a KNIGHT! We yell "D-J-O" which is the full name of our school: Denis J. O'Connell. Our student body of 1,100 is spirited and involved--from our 40+ year tradition of Superdance to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, to our Tuckahoe Elementary School tutors--there's something for everyone.

Campus Ministry provides opportunities for our students to experience the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Eucharist, to experience His healing power in the sacrament of Reconciliation, and to enter into a relationship with Him in personal prayer.

New Family Tips

Read the Weekly KnightLine email from the school every week! This email is usually sent out on Thursday after school and is filled with all the latest school information, including any upcoming PTO events.
Get familiar with the school website and the PARENTS page for PowerSchool access, key school year dates, faculty directory, family directory and links to FLIK (O'Connell's dining services provider), the school store and more.
Stay connected in faith through the Spiritual Life Committee, the Knights Intercessors Prayer Connection, the Mom's Uknighted in Prayer group and/or the Dads Club Morning Rosaries, and use the Formed.org resources available to our community.
Join the PTO as a board member, on a committe, and/or attend any monthly meeting (usually held the first Monday of each month in the library).
Join the Dad's Club!
Share your students' interests - Get involved in the Fine Arts Boosters, support performances, trips and more. Join the Athletics Boosters and help with any team parent needs, concession sales and more.
Enjoy baking or hosting events? Consider helping with PTO traditions: Christmas breakfast, faculty lunches, Baccalaureate reception, All-Night Grad Party, or school-sponsored events like the Annual Gala, the 5K and Family Fun Run and the golf tournament.
