Used Book & Uniform Sale


The Used Book and Uniform Sale (UBS) is a fundraiser for the PTO and a service to all O'Connell families, held in July of each year. We offer used books in all conditions, not just "excellent." Why not keep a second set of "poor" condition books at home?

The PTO provides an easy and efficient way to sell your used books/uniforms. Consign with us and get top value. Proceeds benefit the O’Connell community.


CLEARANCE SALE - Saturday, Jan. 19 (9 to 11 a.m.)

The PTO Used Book and Uniform Sale Committee will host a clearance sale next Saturday, Jan. 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. All uniforms will be $5 and books will be $10 for Green (Fair condition), $20 for Red (Good condition), and $30 to $50 for Blue (New condition) books. We will accept cash and check only. If your child has lost a book, needs an extra to keep at home or has grown out of their uniforms please stop by and support the school with your purchase. GENERAL SALE NOTES

  1. Please be sure to print out your students book list before arriving to shop. View the 2018-2019 book list...
  2. You will also need a copy of your reservation confirmation, arrive 10 minutes earlier than your scheduled time. If you miss your scheduled time you will have to wait for the next slot that is not over capacity.
  3. Be sure to bring easy-to-carry luggage for your books and uniforms and be sure that these are empty when you arrive.
  4. If possible, we suggest that you use checks as form of payment, but we will accept cash and credit cards as well.
  5. Please be sure and have your receipt ready for our monitors to check as you exit the sale.
  6. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Q. What is the Used Book Sale (UBS)?

Q. What is the consignment fee?

A. The consignment fee for the PTO is 20% of the final selling price plus a $1 processing fee per student.

Q. What can I sell through the used book/uniform sale?

A. You can sell all current used books and uniforms.

Q. My books are discontinued, can I still sell them through the UBS?

A. The UBS does not sell discontinued books, we can however, accept them as donations.

Q. When is the UBS?

A. The UBS will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Q. What if my books don’t sell?

A. When you drop-off your books for consignment you have the option to request pick-up of any unsold books. You must retrieve any unsold books the day after the sale, Sunday, July 15, 2018, time TBD. ANY BOOKS LEFT AFTER SUNDAY, JULY 15 BECOME DONATIONS TO THE PTO. The PTO does not contact you to let you know if your books sale or not.

Q. What is the benefit of buying my books from the UBS?

A. By purchasing from the UBS you will save an average of 30-60% on your books and uniforms.

Q. What if I change my schedule and no longer need a book, can I return it for reimbursement?

A. No. All sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges.
