General Student Parking Policy
Student parking on campus is a privilege and requires a permit. General Parking ( Lot A & Lot B) permits are provided for a fee on a first-come, first-serve basis to 11th - 12th grade students who drive to school. (Special Senior reserved parking information will be available after the first day of school.) As space allows, 10th grade students may purchase permits at the start of the second semester. The following rules apply to all students wishing to park on campus during school hours:
- Students must register any vehicle that will be parked on campus.
- Students must ensure that a parking permit is properly displayed in their car.
- Students must park in designated student parking lots/spaces and may not park in a numbered space, a space marked for visitors or staff, safety zones/fire lanes, or unmarked areas.
- Permit parking is enforced from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on days when school is in session.
- Students must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance at all times.
- Students and parents/guardians assume liability for damage to school property or other properties.
- Bishop O'Connell cannot be held responsible for damage or loss to any vehicle brought to school.
- Drivers must comply with all traffic laws, school regulations and safety procedures.
Drivers are responsible for the conduct of their passengers and the contents of their vehicles while on school grounds and while driving to and from school. Any of the following could also result in loss of parking privileges:
- Reckless or distracted driving
- Excessive tardiness or absences
- Excessive or serious disciplinary infraction(s)
Administration reserves the right to deny any student the privilege of parking on school grounds. Cars parked on school property are subject to search. Cars without permits or parked in unauthorized areas will be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
