Girls Basketball

The mission of the Bishop O’Connell girls basketball program is to provide each player with a positive basketball experience in a values based environment. The program emphasizes the values of respect, courage, responsibility and perseverance, the cornerstones of any balanced basketball program.

The program is dedicated to building a “foundation for success” not only for the present but also for the girls’ future. Playing in one of the nation's most competitive leagues helps prepare the girls for life’s many challenges while learning how to handle victories with tact and defeat with resiliency.

The program consists of three levels, freshman, junior varsity, and varsity. The goal of each season is to successfully compete and win the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title and the Virginia Independent School state title.
