Planned 2024 Reunions

The Class of 1961/1962 will hold a joint event in September. On September 20, they will gather for a "meet and greet" at the Knights of Columbus in Arlington; on Saturday, September 21, Mass at noon at O'Connell in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, followed by lunch. They will then head to Maggiano's in Tyson's for dinner to cap off their reunion weekend.

The Class of 1964 will have its 60-year reunion the weekend of October 25-27. They will gather for a "meet and greet" on October 25 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Falls Church. The class will attend the homecoming football game on October 26, and a class Mass on October 27 at Saint James in Falls Church at 9:00 a.m. and coffee and conversation at 10:30 a.m. at St. James in Heller Hall.

The Class of 1965 will have their annual gathering on September 28, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Samuel Beckett's Irish Pub in Arlington.   

The Class of 1969 will hold its 55-year reunion on campus at O'Connell on Saturday, August 10. More details will follow. 

The Class of 1971 turns 71 reunion event will be held on October 4, at Ireland’s Four Provinces at 6:30 p.m. in Falls Church. That same day, the class is hosting a scramble golf outing starting at 10:30 a.m. at Herndon Centennial Golf Course. Contact Cindy Foreso (cforeso@verizon.net) or Bill Crenshaw (billcrenshaw@verizon.net) to be added to the Evite for the event. 

The Class of 1974 will reunite for their 50-year reunion on the weekend of October 11-13. October 11 will be an icebreaker at Overlee Pool in Arlington, and October 12 will be the main event - a buffet dinner with music/dancing at the Washington Golf and Country Club followed by a class Mass on October 13 in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on campus at O'Connell.

The Class of 1984 will reunite for their 40-year reunion on October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Kilroy's in Springfield. 

The Class of 1989 is in early discussion about their 35-year reunion on the evening of October 26. 

The Class of 1994 will reunite for their 30-year reunion on October 26 at Solace Outpost in Falls Church from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

The Class of 1999 will reunite for their 25-year reunion on October 26 at The Board Room/Champagne Room at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets contact Cathy Chicas at crcabel@yahoo.com.

The Class of 2004 will reunite for their 20-year reunion on Saturday October 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Starr Hill Tysons Brew Pub. 

The Class of 2019 will reunite on August 16, 2024 at 7:00pm at Bronson Bierhall in Arlington. 

2024 Class Reunions - Calling all classes ending in 4 and 9, this is your year to celebrate and gather. 

For planning purposes, the 2024 Homecoming football game is on October 26 vs. Archbishop Carroll High School at 1:00 p.m.  Join us at the homecoming tent for a picnic, games, and prizes.  Help cheer our Knights to victory!

2023 Reunion Recaps 

Class of 1963 - On October 3 and 4, the Class of 1963 and their guests celebrated their 60-year reunion at The Westin Hotel National Harbor in Maryland. The highlights of the two-day event were a fun and very well-attended “Meet and Greet” on Tuesday, including a visit by O’Connell’s Head of School, Bill Crittenberger. The reunion party continued the next day with alumni enjoying all that The National Harbor had to offer on a beautiful autumn day. The big event Wednesday night included a wonderful seated dinner, conversation, and many great memories.

Class of 1965 - In what has become a fall tradition, they reunited for their annual gathering at Samuel Beckett’s in Arlington on October 14. 

Class of 1973 - On Homecoming weekend, October 6 - 8, they gathered to celebrate their milestone 50-year reunion. The weekend started off with a bang on Friday night at a “Meet and Greet” on O’Connell’s campus in the Armor Family Atrium. The next day, alumni joined the Homecoming fun on campus attending the football game and alumni BBQ. The celebration continued on Saturday night, with a seated dinner and dancing at a private venue in Washington, D.C. On Sunday, the reunion committee invited classmates to Mass in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel and a brunch to cap off the weekend. 

Class of 1978 - celebrated their 45-year reunion on October 7 at Kilroy’s in Springfield.  

Class of 1983 - celebrated their 40-year reunion in great style with 105 classmates on October 21. Big thanks to Caitriona Swiger-Smith and Marcey Gavidia for coordinating and to Ginny Richardson for putting together a beautiful origami tree to honor deceased classmates. A great time was had by all. New friendships were made, and old friendships were rekindled. 

Class of 1988 - Gathered on October 7 for their 35-year reunion at Solace Outpost in Falls Church. 

Class of 1993 - reunited for their 30-year reunion on Friday, Oct. 6, at Carpool in Arlington.

Class of 2003 - Their 20-year reunion was a memorable and heartwarming gathering that brought together former classmates to celebrate two decades of friendship and shared memories. Held at the charming venue of Daniel O’Connell’s Irish Bar in Alexandria on October 7, the event featured a night of reconnections, laughter, and reminiscing. The class is already eager for their 30th reunion, based on the impressive turnout.

Class of 2013 – gathered for their 10 year-reunion at Mission Navy Yard to celebrate a decade of shared memories and achievements. It was an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, reminiscence, and the joyous celebration of a decade of growth and success.

The 1998 WCAC Champions Boys Varsity Soccer Team reunited to attend Bishop O’Connell’s Boys Varsity soccer game vs. Bishop McNamara on October 12 at McMurtrie Stadium to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of their WCAC championship victory. The classmates were recognized at halftime during Bishop O’Connell’s 5-1 victory!
