Application Process

We do not accept students who have repeated or re-classified in high school. We also do not accept local senior transfers.

GENERAL INFORMATION

If you are applying to the Muller Center please remember to submit a copy of testing documents and IEP/SAP.

Once you submit an application ($55), an electronic checklist will appear that shows what items have been submitted and what items are still missing.

9th Grade Applicants

Choosing a high school can be a challenging decision. We hope that as you take time to review what we have to offer at Bishop O'Connell you will choose to apply for admission.

Every year we work with eighth graders from over 80 different schools. The application process varies whether you are applying from a school in the Diocese of Arlington, another private school, home schooling, or a public school.

Transfer Applicants

Bishop O'Connell accepts transfer students looking for 10th or 11th grade. We do not accept senior transfers. We also do not allow students to repeat or re-classify at Bishop O'Connell.

Please contact the Admissions office before applying to ensure that space is still available.

International Applicants

Bishop O'Connell High School welcomes students from around the world. We currently have students enrolled from China, Mongolia, France, Japan, Korea and Ethiopia.

In addition to the regular application for admission, international students must submit an English Proficiency score. We will accept scores from Duolingo, TOEFL, or IELTS.
The minimum scores for acceptance are as follows:

Bishop O'Connell does not offer any ESL courses and students are expected to be proficient in English when they begin school.

Students from China or Korea must contact the Cambridge Network to begin the application process. They can be contacted by clicking here.
