It's always a great day to be a KNIGHT! We yell "D-J-O" which is the full name of our school: Denis J. O'Connell. Our student body of 1,100 is spirited and involved--from our 40+ year tradition of Superdance to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, to our Tuckahoe Elementary School tutors--there's something for everyone.

Campus Ministry provides opportunities for our students to experience the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Eucharist, to experience His healing power in the sacrament of Reconciliation, and to enter into a relationship with Him in personal prayer.

Spanish Study Abroad Program

Program Details

This summer program is open to Bishop O'Connell juniors and seniors interested in studying and practicing the Spanish language at the prestigious University of Salamanca (fourth oldest university in the world celebrating 800 years). Besides the two weeks of studies, the participants will be traveling to Segovia and Madrid. While in Salamanca, participants will be housed in student dorms with three daily meals included. This program provides the opportunity of earning college credits and participating in conversation classes, cultural activities, walking tours, and museum visits.

Classes have a maximum of 18 students. Students will take a placement test upon arrival in order to be assigned to the proper course level.
