Bishop O'Connell names Kosa So as new girls head basketball coach.
Bishop O’Connell High School has named Kosa So as the new head coach for the school’s girls basketball program.
Coach So has over two decades of basketball coaching and training experience. He previously served as head coach of the boys varsity basketball team at John C. Lewis High School (formerly Robert E. Lee High School) in Springfield, Va. and currently is head coach of a U17 AAU girls team. He is also the founder and head trainer of Ultimate Basketball Training.
“I envision building a strong program able to compete for a WCAC title within 3 to 4
years. The program will work to achieve constant individual skill set improvement,” said Coach So. “I am a firm believer that as each player improves so does the team collectively.”
“Kosa So is passionate about the game,” said Athletic Director Joe Wootten. “I am confident that his experience, his leadership, player development approach and his overall plan to build a strong girls basketball program will have us as a top 20 team in the area and competing at the top of the WCAC.”
There will be a parent-player meet and greet with Coach So on Wednesday, May 29 at 6-7 p.m. in the team room followed by an open gym. Enter through Door 16. All interested families are encouraged to attend.
