This fall, O’Connell senior Caitlin Musolino was named a Semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, based on her performance on the 2024 PSAT/NMSQT. She was later joined by nine other O’Connell seniors whose scores on that exam placed them among the top 50,000 of the more than 1.5 million students nationwide. These Commended Students are Daniel Fthenos, Nicholas Hearne, Patrick Porter, Juana Roa, Zachary Robbins, Milo Tom, Ruby Trent, Sophia Truong, and Ella Woodcock.

“We congratulate these students and thank them for the honor they bring to our school,” said Sister Catherine Hill, IHM, Dean of Academics. “Their ability to analyze information and to test so well on a wide range of questions is a skill that transfers to many life situations: brainstorming and problem solving in work settings, interventions in emergency situations, or simply following directions in everyday events.”
