Earlier this month, we were pleased to announce that three O'Connell seniors, Grace Faughnan, Anna Rienzi and Miles Woodcock, were named Semifinalists in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Today, they were joined by five other seniors who were named Commended Students in the competition. These students, whose performances on the 2022 PSAT/NMSQT placed them among the top 50,000 of the more than 1.3 million students nationwide, received official Letters of Commendation.
Congratulations to Connor Low, Kendall Snow, Anthony Thieman, Gina Vicari and Eva Woodcock.
According to a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Program, "Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. They represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."
