Bishop O'Connell students did what they said they were going to do--they came together on Saturday, March 7, 2026 for the 51st annual Superdance, and made the event one for the record books!
Since March 1976, Bishop O'Connell students have been hosting an annual 12-hour dance marathon to help raise awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis (CF) research. With the wholehearted support of then-principal Msgr. James McMurtrie, the first Superdance to fight CF was organized by senior Maura O’Donnell and fellow classmates of Maura’s sister, Brenda ’77, who succumbed to this disease in April 1975.
The 2026 Superdance was indeed a success! O'Connell students raised more than $315,000 (and still counting), bringing the school's 51-year total to over $6 million!
