IHM Sisters
Since 1957, Bishop O'Connell High School has been blessed with the guidance and presence of a community of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) who work at the school.
Those who work with and learn from the Sisters see in the simplicity of their lives, the warmth of their hospitality to others, and the humility with which they live their commitment to vocation a wonderful example of the Christian life. Other educators grow from their example and students learn service, dedication, persistence and integrity by having them as their teachers.
Today, our Dean of Academics, Sister Catherine Hill, is not only an IHM Sister, but also a 1966 graduate of O'Connell. Other Sisters continue to serve on the faculty in the religion, social studies, mathematics and science departments.
