About 200 O'Connell students made their voices heard and stood up for the sanctity of human life at the annual March for Life, held January 22, 2010 in Washington, D.C.
An early dismissal and buses provided by the Chaplain's office allowed students to join the March as it began at 2:00 p.m. A threatening winter storm failed to materialize, as clouds and mist gave way to a beautiful, sunny afternoon.
Students marched along Constitution Avenue from 7th Street to the Supreme Court, joining a crowd estimated at 250,000 - 300,000 people, making 2010 one of the largest ever for the March.
Although the March was slow to start, the mood of the day was upbeat and cheerful. At the end of the day, buses picked the students up at Folger's park, and judging by the smiles on students' faces, the 2010 March for Life was a great success.
