Overview
The season starts with auditions in April or May. The Royalette Dance Team attends a summer camp in July, where the new team competes for the first time. At the end of August, the season continues with a work week to prepare for the upcoming football season. They perform at halftime for varsity football games, varsity boys and girls basketball games, and pep rallies. The Royalettes have also been invited to perform at other school sponsored events, such as Open House and the Annual Gala & Auction. The team competes in two or three competitions each year, including state, regional, and national competitions.
The Royalettes also do their share of community service with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Toys for Tots and Students Against Destructive Decisions by volunteering for their events or donating money raised from various fundraisers.
Camp Results - Congratulations to the 2010-2011 Royalette Dance Team!
The Royalettes completed another success year at their summer camp which was held at the University of Maryland-Baltimore by the Universal Dance Association on July 10-13. The girls placed fifth for their home routine with a blue ribbon evaluation, which qualified them for the National Dance Team Championships in Orlando. The Royalettes were also awarded the 110% Award, which was selected by the UDA staff.
Sarah, Katie and Josie were named All-Americans which qualified them to perform at the New Year's Tour in Rome, Italy. Sarah, Katie, Josie, Olivia, Chelsea and Emily U. qualified for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York. The entire team qualified to perform at the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando. Emily F. was awarded 1st Runner-up for the "Drill Down Queen" trophy for being the second to last camper standing in a Drill Down elimination contest.
