Library

The Bishop O'Connell library is an integral part of the school program and serves as a central resource for both students and teachers. Its purpose is to assist its users to discover, evaluate, and apply information. Lifelong reading habits are nurtured and developed through instruction in the proper use and resources available in the library.

The Bishop O'Connell library contains non-fiction books, a reference collection, a collection of DVDs, videos, CD-ROMS, and more.  Computers access is available for research databases, such as Infotrac and the complete O'Connell library catalog, and for research on the internet.

The material selection policy is to include materials appropriate for a Catholic School library. They are chosen to enhance the curriculum and aid in the moral development of the students, and stimulate their intellectual development. We encourage suggestions from the faculty for additions to the collections.

The library is staffed with two full-time certified librarians and two part-time paraprofessionals.
