Parent Instructions for PowerSchool
PowerSchool can be accessed from the O’Connell web site by clicking on Choosing PowerSchool and Edmodo from the Quicklinks menu or by typing the following in your brower's address bar:
Step 1: The first screen displays and prompts you for “Parent Sign In” OR “Create Account."
- Click Create Account.
- On the Create Parent Account screen, parents/guardians can establish their own parent/guardian account. The Desired Username that you select and enter will be used each time you login to PowerSchool. i.e., George Washington might decide to use gwashington as his username. Just follow the prompts.
Step 2:The second section on the page, “Link Students to Account,” requires that the information for at least one student be provided, and includes the following:
- Student Name
- Access ID (parent/guardian Access ID)
- Access Password (parent/guardian Access Password)
(Please remember that codes are case sensitive.)
When this screen is complete, press Enter.
When you create your parent account, simply list each child’s name in the “Link Students to Account” section. PowerSchool is updated this year, allowing parents to link more than one child/student to the parent/guardian account.
PowerSchool takes you to the Grades and Attendance screen for the first student linked to your account. All student names linked to your account display across the top of the screen. Move from one student’s grading information to another student by clicking on the student name.

Bishop O’Connell has discontinued the use of Edline.
Teachers will communicate class information to students via Edmodo.
