Student Recognized in National Road Safety Contest

Congratulations to senior Michelle Tansey who was named as a runner-up prize winner in the national Drive2Life Contest sponsored by Scholastic Inc. and the National Road Safety Foundation.

Tansey submitted a storyboard for a drivers' safety public service announcement focused on the dangers of texting while driving, Her concept used the song "Put a Lid on It," and she included the acronym TLID, meaning "Text Later, I'm Driving!"

The Drive2Life Contest was open to students in grades 6-12. There was one grand prize winner and two runners-up in each of the two age categories. As a runner up in the grades 9-12 category, Tansey received a $500 award.
