The Washington Post Features O'Connell Swimmer: Madelyn Donohoe

Read The Washington Post's story about O'Connell long distance swimmer, Madelyn Donohoe. As a sophomore this year, she is without a doubt one of the most talented swimmers to come through O'Connell. As high school distance races are not much of a competition for her, she took her talents to the U.S Olympic Team Trials as a 14-year old swimming in the 400 and 800 meter freestyle last year. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this fish in the water!

O'Connell Swim and Dive Dominates

DJO Swim and Dive proved to be a threat as they took on PVI and Bishop Ireton last week. The Boys team lost to PVI 192-220, but defeated Ireton with a score of 238-162! The girls team had an intense meet, ultimately tying PVI 214-214, and beating Ireton 240-188! Head Coach Joe Smolinske was pleased with the evening's events and commented "it was a great team effort by our swimmers, divers, and our dual sport athletes- definitely one of the most exciting meets I've been on deck for as a coach." GO KNIGHTS!
