Overview

Summer 2017 Camp Results
The Royalette Dance Team completed another successful Universal Dance Association summer camp at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County on July 7-10, 2017. The girls placed second for their Home Routine with a Blue Ribbon evaluation, which qualified them for the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, Fla. The Royalettes received a Superior Trophy, which was awarded to teams with the highest averages based on individual routine evaluation. This also qualified the Royalettes for Nationals. The team was invited to participate in the pre-game performance of the 2017 Citrus Bowl.

Erika, Haley, Katarina, Julia, Caroline and Gaby were named All-Americans, which qualified them to perform at the New Year's Day Parade in London, England. Our officers (Erika, Haley, Julia and Caroline) qualified for the Varsity Christmas Spectacular. Elise was in the Top 5 for Final Drill Down. Other awards included 3 Pin-It-Forwards, Super Spirit Stick and 4 Spirit Sticks.

Overview

The Royalette season starts with auditions in April. The team attends a summer camp in July, where they compete for the first time to qualify for Nationals. In late August, the season continues with a work week to prepare for the upcoming football season. They perform at halftime at all home games for Varsity Football, Varsity Boys Basketball and Varsity Girls Basketball. They also perform at other school sponsored events such as pep rallies and Open House. The Royalettes compete in 4 to 5 competitions each year at the regional, state and national level.

The Royalettes also do their share of community service with the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ALS), Susan G. Komen Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Toys for Tots, The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Students Against Destructive Decisions by volunteering for their events or donating money raised through various fundraisers.

History & Alumni

Royalette Dance Team History

The Royalette Dance Team was established in 1981 by Kay Ahlstrom, who retired in 1999 and currently resides in South Carolina. Over the years there have been over 300 girls who have been a part of this great tradition. Royalettes became a varsity sport on Saturday, November 9, 2002. The Royalettes have created a positive reputation for themselves and have gained respect from their fellow students and the faculty at the school. They enjoy watching the team perform at games and pep rallies. They have also made their mark at competitions. The team has grown so much since 1981.

Eagle Award

Awarded by Coach Chrissy Salvador in Excellence of Leadership.

"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. She doesn't set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the quality of her actions and the integrity of his intent. In the end, leaders are much like eagles...they do not flock; you find them one at a time."
