Bishop O'Connell High School Cheerleading is a two-season coed sport (fall and winter). There are two squads: Varsity and Junior Varsity. The season starts with tryouts in the spring. The squads attends a summer camp and in August, the season continues with a work week to prepare for the upcoming football season. The squads cheers at all home games for varsity and JV football and boys and girls basketball games. They also perform at other school sponsored events such as pep rallies and Open House.

LISA MOYNIHAN, Head Coach
Coach Lisa grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where she first developed a love and appreciation for cheerleading and dance. She cheered on the JV and Varsity teams at Juan Diego Catholic High School. During high school, she also trained in classical ballet with the Ballet West Academy and attended summer training with American Ballet Theater. She began a Modern Dance major at the University of Utah where she took valuable courses in choreography, fitness, and kinesiology. She has had the opportunity to perform with professional companies Ballet West and the Martha Graham Dance Company. Coach Lisa has taught dance for six years at studios in Utah and Virginia, and she coached the St. John the Baptist Middle School Dance Team in their 2011-2012 year. Coach Lisa, who in December graduated from Georgetown University with a Masters in Global Comparative History, is excited to be joining the Bishop O'Connell community as both Head Cheerleading Coach and as a new History Teacher.
